At its heart, Banished is a story of survival. Though it is set in the stark historical reality of the founding of the penal colony in Australia in 1788 after the arrival of the First Fleet, it is not the story of Australia and how it came to be. Rather, it is a tale of love, faith, justice and morality played out on an epic scale in a confined community where the stakes are literally life and death.
The series tells the story of people which have studied Australia being expelled from the country. On the verge of XVIII century a mysterious new continent, the law-breakers, military, wildlife and nothing more. An established unfriendly environment causes people to look for ways of survival that exist. The difference in the relationship also has differences. Educated people are trying to make decisions together while individualists barely have time to protect themselves from unpredictable and dangerous world of Australia animals. Each new day is another test that is given to the colonialists harder and harder. As always, victory selects only the most courageous and strong. One problem is replaced by another but only a more complex nature. New threats are coming to replace the old and difficult to predict what to expect tomorrow. Such conditions cause people to join groups and to stick together. Each of them realizes that their actions must be meaningful and consistent. Events Banished series show how still it is important to have support in any situation. At any time any of the characters could be in danger so they must learn to help each other especially when in such difficult conditions on foreign soil they are all on an equal footing.Read more »
