In the early 1990s, Boston was rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm - and then it all changed in what was called the "Boston Miracle". In this fictional account, Assistant District Attorney Decourcy Ward comes from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr. Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.
The action takes place in the early 1990s in Boston. The city is rife with violent criminals who are encouraged by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism were the norm. Then something happened that later came to be called "Boston Miracle." Civil society gained the upper hand and gradually began to clear the city from corruption. An assistant district attorney, Decourcy Ward, a black man from Brooklyn, arrives in Boston. He gazes at the prevailing order around and decides to change the balance of power at any cost. Ward is forced to conclude a highly dubious alliance with the corrupt, but revered FBI veteran Jackie Rohr. Together they take on a gang that commits bold robberies of collector armored vehicles in Charlestown. This alliance soon undermines the entire Boston criminal justice system.Read more »
