Halo: Nightfall introduces a pivotal new character, Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth’s most powerful and secretive military branch. When he and his team are caught in a horrific biological attack, they unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artefact, where they will be forced to fight for their survival, question everything, and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives. Taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Halo: Nightfall is Locke's origin story which will lend insight into the character he becomes in Halo 5.
The plotline begins in one of the colonies of humanity – Sedra. Military intelligence detachment investigates some strange activity on this planet. Subsequently the detachment, being heavily attacked by radical terrorist organization finds biological weapons there that are able to influence only a human being. It is possible to understand the nature of these weapons only at place where they were created. Therefore soldiers leave to finish a mission under the command of Jameson Lock. For the sake of survival field investors of detachment have to cooperate with one of the local commander Randall Aiken. Still resting on Sedra the detachment finds alien artifact. Meanwhile on the colony orbit the partially functional section of the destroyed Installation 04 arrives. The visual part of Halo: Nightfall is fascinating. The planets are drawn qualitatively and gloomily, the action is also quite impressive and memorable. Join the protagonists in this absorbing thriller-action story!Read more »
