The entertaining and horrifying psychological thriller attracts magnificently faithful fan base, with the second season keeping us glued to the screens, biting fingernails. The protagonist Will Graham's quest to assert his innocence and bring down his arch enemy Hannibal Lecter accelerates in the face of disruptions to the trial. The FBI circle surrounding Hannibal shrinks, and he can no longer remain static. The psychological "cat and mouse" games that the audience anticipates so much are at their best with the profound writing from the thoughtful authors. Great work by the cast is complemented by special and sound effects, bringing season 2 to the levels surprisingly surpassing the first. While this series is certainly not for the faint-hearted, Hannibal amazes with its sheer brilliance of venturing into the land where no one ever thought of going before (at least not in the stringent series format). The boundaries are pushed to the limits, and we don't seem to be getting enough of it. Unlike the regular murder-killer drama that we are so used to, Hannibal is an acquired taste. Taste it is, as for the second season we are watching episodes with food-inspired titles, from the French cuisine of the series 1 to the surprising choice of Japanese dishes for this year.Read more »
