Legion introduces the story of David Haller: Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he's confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real. He's based on the Marvel comics character Legion, the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier (played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy in the films), first introduced in 1985.
The plot revolves around a young man named David Heller (Dan Stevens). He suffers from mental disorder since childhood. For a long time, David heard voices in his head. These voices could give different advice for him. And for a long time the guy considered a madman himself. When he was a child he was subjected of a terrorist attack. This resulted to the irreversible consequences. David was able to absorb the mind of the terrorist's leader and his accomplices. Then he fell into a coma. Then David was sent to the centre of mutants and he was thoroughly researched by doctors. Now many personalitys live in the David's mind. And they control different aspects of his power. Now every person is fighting for the right to control of David's body and mind. But not all individuals have a good intentions. David must learn to deal with it. The action of Legion season 2 unfolds a year after the events of season 1.
