The heroine of the American drama series Madam Secretary Elizabeth McCord is prudent and observant woman who holds the post of secretary of state. In the old days, Elizabeth McCord wonderful agent analyst of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States of America. A few years ago, she left the service. The US president was killed under mysterious circumstances. The successor of the president asks the main character to take an important government post. The woman decided to go back to the previous work with the public in place of the Secretary of State of USA. The President was confident in her business features. In her home, Elizabeth McCord most ordinary woman who has two children. She as and other representatives of the fair sex wants to have the support and understanding of family, predominantly her husband Henry. She leads a normal life but such concepts as compromise and politics she assesses on the other.

As Elizabeth prepares for the arrival of Iranian President Shiraz to sign a nuclear treaty, she uncovers a top secret plot to assassinate him on United States soil. At the same time, she must deal with a massive protest by the Human Rights Campaign in response to Iran’s plans to stone a gay citizen to death. Also, Elizabeth sees a therapist (Marsha Mason) to deal with her PTSD.
When Elizabeth confronts her former friend Juliet, she flashes back to when then-CIA Director Dalton offered her a job that would have changed the course of her life. Also, Stevie and President Dalton’s son, Harrison (Jason Ralph), begin a relationship that will have consequences.
