Jimmy becomes a parent of a child after his mother, with whom Jimmy had one night, ends up on death row. At the premiere of the third season of shows Chance family in mourning in a fun shape, as they visit the memorial for Sabrina’s Nana, “the most despicable character,” according to the portrayer – and Alfred Hitchcock’s muse – Tippy Hedren. The somber occasion is also when we meet Sabrina’s mother narcissistic Tamara .

It's a "My Name is Earl" reunion as the Chances throw a birthday party for Hope. Jason Lee reprises his guest-star role as former rock star Smokey Floyd, and he is joined by guest stars Jaime Pressly, Ethan Suplee, Nadine Velazquez and Eddie Steeples as Natesville locals who all band together to save the party.

Sabrina is excited to introduce her new friend, Rachel, to the family, but Virginia and Burt are shocked when they realize Rachel is the girl who once broke Jimmy's heart.
