In the new season, viewers will see the heroes finally graduate from high school, and after the graduation ceremony and prom, the action of "Riverdale" will be carried forward seven years. Thus, Riverdale students will appear as adults, college graduates. Then the audience will find out that Veronica and Archie did not stay together. The cast of the series has been replenished, and the newcomer will play the wife of Veronica. British actor Chris Mason has been cast as Chad Gekko, a Wall Street banker married to Veronica. He is described as a totally controllable and jealous alpha male who sees a potential threat to his wife's life in Riverdale, especially her friendship with Archie.

Betty and Jughead's investigation into the auteur leads them to the discovery of a secret underground for red-band screenings. Elsewhere, in order to impress the visiting Naval Academy Commandant, Archie agrees to participate in a boxing exhibition against another candidate – KO Kelly. Meanwhile, as Cheryl prepares for prom, she stumbles upon a major secret that Toni's been keeping from her.

After realizing they are out of funds, Archie and Toni turn to Cheryl for help restarting the football and cheer teams. Finally, Betty, Kevin and Alice follow a lead after learning that Polly may be in trouble.
