Episode #1: New World Disorder (air date: 2019-01-27)

Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner, and Mark McKinnon explore how the shift in power has led to the longest government shutdown in American history and made the Mueller investigation — including its indictment of longtime Trump associate Roger Stone — more perilous for the president.

Episode #2: Circling Vultures (air date: 2019-02-03)

Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner, and Mark McKinnon examine a week of news featuring the launch of major Democratic presidential campaigns, mounting legal problems for the president, and questions about the strength of Trump's remaining loyalists.
Following last week's special counsel indictment, THE CIRCUS sits down for a new one-on-one interview with Roger Stone ahead of his Friday court appearance in Washington, D.C. In Oakland, the show goes backstage at Senator Kamala Harris's (D-California) rally as she announces her run for the 2020 Democratic nomination. Hosts also catch up with two other presidential hopefuls: former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg and former Starbucks C.E.O. Howard Schultz, who is considering entering the race as an independent.

Episode #3: The State of Our Union Is ... (air date: 2019-02-10)

Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon go behind the scenes with new Democratic-led congressional committees, following the first clashes of a power shift. The program also follows the new, explosive details surrounding the National Enquirer and Jeff Bezos –the world's richest man, owner of the Washington Post and frequent subject of the President's ire.

Episode #4: 2020 Is Here (air date: 2019-02-17)

The 2020 election is looming large in the capital. Campaign season is here early and more and more candidates are jumping in each week. THE CIRCUS follows declared and potential candidates Amy Klobuchar and Beto O'Rourke at the top of the week, and tracks ongoing news of the potential government shutdown, the border wall battle, and the Green New Deal back in D.C.

Episode #5: States of Emergency (air date: 2019-02-24)

Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon track the battle over a border wall while examining other emergencies facing the nation – including gun violence, opioids and climate change – that people across the political spectrum believe should get a spotlight. Meanwhile, the show follows the latest twists and turns of the legal threats facing the president.

After heading to the border, THE CIRCUS sits down in Texas with freshman Republican congressman Dan Crenshaw. The program also travels to a New Hampshire opioid treatment facility with Republican Governor Chris Sununu, talks climate change with former Vice President Al Gore and discusses gun violence with David Hogg, a survivor of the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida one year ago.

As Democrats in Congress introduce a resolution to block Trump's national emergency declaration, THE CIRCUS goes behind the scenes with the ACLU as it heads to court over the Trump administration's immigration policies.

Episode #6: The Big Split (air date: 2019-03-03)

THE CIRCUS explores a monumental week for Donald Trump's presidency. As the President travels to Vietnam to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, testifies against him back home on Capitol Hill. Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon are joined by Vanity Fair reporter Emily Jane Fox to unpack the human and legal drama unfolding in the nation's capital while the President is half a world away.

As Congress readies for Cohen's appearance, THE CIRCUS goes behind the scenes of hearing preparation with Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D - California), who sits on two of the three committees hearing Cohen's testimony this week. The program also talks with Congressman Matt Gaetz (R - Florida) in his office just moments after he sent a tweet, aimed at Cohen and his wife, which caused an uproar on the eve of the televised hearing. The episode also hears from Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and other Republicans attending the CPAC conference, an annual gathering of conservatives. The show also sits down with House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff and former FBI acting director Andrew McCabe to discuss where the investigations into President Trump and his allies go from here.

Episode #7: To the Left (air date: 2019-03-10)

Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon explore the intra-party clash over whether the best strategy for beating President Trump is to embrace ideas popular with the energized left or with moderate voters closer to America's political center.

In Washington, THE CIRCUS is on Capitol Hill as Democrats divide over how to respond to controversial comments about Israel made by freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota). Amid the firestorm, the program sits down with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) as she defies the concerns of her party's leaders and announces plans to file an impeachment resolution against President Trump.

In Iowa, home of next year's first presidential caucuses, THE CIRCUS catches up with 2020 Democratic candidates across the ideological spectrum, including Jay Inslee and John Hickenlooper as they campaign across the state.
