In the story, the action series taking place 10 years after the events of the film. Lawyer Mitch McDeere who passed all his colleagues to police, is protected under the federal witness protection program. However, after a while, he realizes that escape from the past is not easy.

Continuing his defense in the schoolyard killing, Mitch learns of a plot to kill his client, and has Ray pretend to be a hit man to solicit the perpetrator. Meanwhile, mega-firm Kinross & Clark proposes a partnership agreement.
