TV series "Touch" tells the stories of people from all over the world who have certain influence on each other either evidently or unwittingly. TV show follows Martin Bohm, a widower and a single father, who tries to find an approach to his 11-year-old son Jake. A caring father has tried everything to make a contact with the boy who suffers from autism. Jake never speaks; he doesn’t display any emotions and doesn’t let anybody touch him. The child is obsessed by numbers and spends entire days taking down rows of incomprehensible numbers into his notebook and taking apart broken cell phones. After Jake runs away from school several times Martin is visited by a social worker who thinks that Martin can’t handle his son on his own. Jake is taken to the clinic despite his father’s desperate objections. However, things change when Martin meets Arthur Teller, a professor who deals with children with extraordinary analytical skills. Arthur comes to conclusion that Jake sees variations of numbers and coefficients which connect all the people in the world. The boy can draw parallels between past and present and even predict future. Teller tells Martin that Jake tries to connect different people from all over the world at a certain moment and that his responsibility is to help his son make it by decoding the child’s message. From now on Martin’s attempts to find connection with his son will define the destiny of the entire humankind…

Martin Bohm is a widower and single father who is haunted by an inability to connect to his emotionally challenged 11-year-old son Jake. But when Martin discovers that Jake can predict events before they happen, everything changes. Martin meets social worker Clea Hopkins and Professor Arthur Teller who may have the keys to help unlock Jake's mind.

When Martin comes in contact with a homeless man who possesses the same obsession with numbers as Jake, he sets out on a series of seemingly unrelated tasks that connect an abused African woman, a group of African boys entering a dance competition and an outgoing woman at California's famed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Meanwhile, Teller pays a visit to Jake's board-and-care facility and emotions run high for Clea.
Martin crosses paths with a young man who has a history with his deceased wife, Sarah. A couple managing an online instrument repair business work with an Iraqi heavy metal band that has a teenage follower who is looking to share his comedic talent with an American soldier in Baghdad. But the soldier has troubles of her own when her convoy is ambushed, forcing her to hide in the Iraqi desert. Then, a lottery winner comes upon a depressed pastor.
Martin gets his laptop stolen on the day Jake is scheduled for an important evaluation. As a result, he becomes ensnared in a young Salvadoran woman's quest to avenge the death of her family. Meanwhile, Teller tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter. Also, a spirited Saudi Arabian girl tries to break free of the societal constraints imposed on her and a Montreal doctor attempts to meet a stranger on a train.
As Martin and Clea work together to uncover a shocking development involving Clea's mentally-challenged mother, Teller (guest star Danny Glover) steps into trouble when he visits Jake at the board-and-care facility. Meanwhile, a plane crash survivor seeks new purpose to his existence and a Chinese couple struggles to find balance between work and life.
Martin attempts to find Teller's mysterious workshop and winds up aiding another professor, Logan, to win big at poker. Meanwhile, a young Italian man creates a viral video to track down the love of his life, whom he only met in passing, and a city slicker who plans to sell off his dead father's ranch, winds up learning a lesson from a horse that makes him appreciate the rural life his father chose. Then, Martin's sister-in-law, Abigail Kelsey, visits Clea and Jake at the board-and-care facility, much to Martin's dismay.
Martin follows Jake's numbers to help reconnect a French woman with her twin sister and biological mother, and then attempts to locate the person responsible for their alienation. Meanwhile, a superstitious Italian woman becomes anxious after her astronaut husband loses contact with Earth.
Martin exposes a corrupt parole officer, and a Brazilian street musician uses his guitar to win the heart of a beautiful woman. In addition, Jake bonds with another mute boy, while Clea and Martin learn new information about one of Teller's key patients.
When Martin is mistaken for a criminal, he must involve himself with a heist crew in order to win back an innocent dock worker's job. Meanwhile, an Israeli boy and Palestinian girl fight to keep their relationship afloat. Clea uncovers some surprising documents about Jake, while Martin and his late wife's sister meet to make a pivotal decision.
Aster Corporation increases its interest in Jake, which forces Martin to join forces with Abigail Kelsey. When Avram convinces Martin that Jake and Amelia are connected, Martin begins a quest to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, the situation is intensified when Lucy, a mother whose daughter shares the same gift as Jake, becomes involved in the mission and the seemingly unrelated events are tied together.
As Martin loses custody of Jake, the two find each other and make a plan to flee to California. The episode ends with Jake and Martin meeting Amelia's mother, Lucy on a beach.
When Martin finds himself in the town where he began his reporting career, he starts to suspect his mentor is involved in something illegal.
